Choosing the right cutter
The router is one of the most versatile tools in the workshop. With the correct bits you can form edges, add decorative inlays and even raised panel doors. Practice is the key to successful routing. However, the bit on the right is just as important. In this article I will provide a basic guide to make sure you choose the bits you need for work.
Before starting I would like to offer some advice important to make things easier. First try to use sharp bits. They retain their sharpness for a long time under normal use. A bit boring may be damaged work. Try to get the feel of more efficient cutting motion. The bit should cut easily with only slight reduction in engine speed. If it moves very slowly through the wood will burn and ruin the mood of the drill. Moving too fast slows down the engine and cause overheating. The practice of scrap wood and see the performance of your care. The sound of the tool is an excellent guide, once we achieve efficient cutting. Initially, the tool often leave and check the cut of the burnt areas caused by very slow movements. It only takes a few minutes of practice to get the ability to use a router.

Basic Box – Fluting and covered with cane surfaces.
As you can see the choice the right just seems a little daunting. Fear not start with simple projects and work your way in the most difficult jobs that require the use of multiple routers. With time and experience to become adept at picking up the pieces well with little or no problem.
Just as important in selecting the correct drill is learn to change, adjust the cutting depth, and the use of a router guide.
Insertion of strawberries: Disconnect the router from the power supply. The use of two keys (unless your router is equipped with a locking device to prevent rotation of the shaft) have lower nut in place and turn the clamp until the bit is easy to remove. Insert the new bit, again hold the lower nut in place while tightening the clamp nut. Make sure it is difficult as the last thing want is the bit to get at the same time is turning at high speed.
Adjusting the cutting depth: Place the router on a surface flat. Loosen the lock nut and turn the collar until the bit just touches the surface of the work. Slide the router at the edge of the work until the bit is just happened. Turn up little neck is at the desired depth. Locking collar and tighten the lock nut.
What is a router guide? The guide follows the bit to exact distance you want on the edge of the work. The guide and adjusts from the base of the router and is held in place by locking screws. These guides are available for most models.
Knowing that should have a basic understanding of the types of router bits and their uses, as well as some tips to help you along the way .. Just remember to take your time and do your work area, and above all safe.
