Spray paint as a rock school spirit?

It's the birthday of my friend in a couple of weeks, and I want to spray paint the school the spirit of our rock for her. I've never done this before, though, so does anyone have any advice? What kind of spray paint is best? How many cans are needed? Anything else would be helpful!
